2. What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and delete information when you use the Remember-lings website and services (the "Service").

3. Information We Collect

a. Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Account identifiers
• Subscription status (managed via Stripe)

b. User-Uploaded Content

When you use Remember-lings, you may upload:

• Text files containing message or chat data
• (On certain plans) images uploaded for personal memory viewing

Important:

You retain ownership of all uploaded content. We do not manually review or read your chats.

c. Generated Summaries

Based on your preferences, Remember-lings uses AI to generate summaries of your uploaded content. These summaries are stored so you can access your summary history.

d. Insight-lings Feature

The Insight-lings feature allows you to ask questions about your relationships based on your uploaded chat data. Important privacy information:

• Chat history is not saved: Your questions and the AI's responses are not stored in our database.
• No persistent storage: All conversation history exists only in your browser session and is cleared when you close the page or refresh.
• Token usage only: We only track and store the amount of AI tokens used for billing and usage limit purposes. This does not include the content of your questions or responses.
• No data sharing: Your questions and responses are sent to OpenAI's API for processing but are not used to train their models and are not stored by Remember-lings.

e. Export Requests

When you request an export of your summary history, we collect:

• Which conversations you selected for export
• Export request timestamp and status
• Download token (for secure file access)

Export files are stored temporarily and download links expire after 7 days.

f. Usage & Technical Data

We collect limited technical data such as:

• Log files
• Error reports
• Basic usage metrics

This data does not include raw chat content.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the Service
• Process uploaded files into a unified data format
• Generate summaries according to your preferences
• Maintain account and subscription status
• Improve reliability, security, and performance
• Communicate about account or product updates

5. AI Processing & Third-Party Services

Remember-lings uses third-party services to operate.

a. AI Processing

• Summaries are generated using OpenAI's API.
• Your data is processed solely to provide the Service.
• Data sent to OpenAI is not used to train public AI models.

b. Infrastructure & Payments

• Data storage is handled via Supabase.
• Payments and subscriptions are handled via Stripe.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

• Raw uploaded chat data: Hard-deleted when you delete the chat or your account.
• Generated summaries: Stored until you delete them or delete your account.
• Insight-lings questions and responses: Not stored. These exist only in your browser session and are not saved to our database.
• Insight-lings token usage: Stored for billing and usage limit tracking. This includes only the number of tokens used, not the content of questions or responses.
• Export files: Stored temporarily in secure storage. Download links expire after 7 days, and files may be deleted after expiration.
• Export request records: Retained for service operation but do not include summary content.
• Account deletion: All associated user data, including export files and request records, is deleted from our systems. Insight-lings token usage records are also deleted.
• Backups: Any temporary backups are managed by infrastructure providers (such as Supabase) and are not intentionally retained by Remember-lings.
• Operational logs: May be retained for security and legal purposes and do not include chat content or Insight-lings questions/responses.

You may request account deletion at any time.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access your information
• Export your summary history
• Request correction or deletion
• Request account closure

8. Children & Minors

The Service is intended for individuals 13 years of age or older.

Users are responsible for ensuring they have the right to upload any content. Please do not upload chats involving minors. Remember-lings does not verify the content of uploads and is not responsible for content uploaded in violation of this guideline.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
